Duties

  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their visit
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring quick and precise entry
  • Recommend menu items and upsell specials to enhance guest experience and increase sales
  • Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and sanitation
  • Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering responsibilities
  • Maintain cleanliness by bussing tables, resetting dining areas, and adhering to sanitation standards
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and delivery, supporting food safety and food handling protocols
  • Manage guest relations by addressing inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally
  • Use reservation management tools like OpenTable to coordinate seating arrangements and optimize table turnover
  • Support host/hostess duties when needed by managing waitlists and assisting with guest seating

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, preferably with fine dining or nightlife experience
  • Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; familiarity with OpenTable is a plus
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport quickly
  • Ability to upsell menu items effectively while maintaining genuine guest interactions
  • Culinary experience or understanding of food preparation enhances service quality
  • Demonstrated time management skills in a fast-paced setting; multitasking ability is essential
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures
  • Experience with cashiering, basic math skills for cash handling, and POS transactions
  • Previous host/hostess or nightclub serving experience is advantageous but not required
  • Strong communication skills and a positive attitude that promotes teamwork and guest satisfaction
