Duties

• Greet guests warmly and assist them in seating arrangements, ensuring a smooth and welcoming arrival experience
• Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Toast POS, and relay orders efficiently to kitchen staff
• Provide expert recommendations, upsell menu items, and promote specials to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales
• Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and sanitation
• Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are upheld during food handling, serving, and clearing tables
• Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately, including cashiering and processing payments with POS systems like Toast or similar platforms
• Assist with bussing tables, resetting dining areas quickly to maintain a clean and inviting environment

Skills

• Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in fine dining or nightlife settings such as nightclubs or upscale restaurants
• Strong knowledge of POS systems including Toast, or similar platforms; familiarity with OpenTable or SevenRooms is a plus
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build guest relations and handle diverse guest needs professionally
• Culinary experience or background in food preparation enhances your ability to answer menu questions confidently
• Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy service hours
• Knowledge of food safety protocols, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
• Ability to upsell menu items naturally while maintaining a friendly demeanor
• Basic math skills for cash handling, billing accuracy, and transaction processing
• Certification in responsible alcohol service (e.g., TIPS) is a plus
