Job Summary
Papa's Kitchen is a family owned and operated diner that has been open just a few weeks. We are already growing and looking to add another server to our team. Our restaurant offers a unique, welcoming atmosphere, including our in-house coffee shop, Moody Brews Coffee, creating a fun and energetic environment for both guests and staff.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a team setting, and takes pride in creating a great guest experience. This is a great opportunity to get in early with a growing business.

Applicants must be able to work Saturdays from 6:30-3:30, with additional weekday hours added as we grow. The position starts at $2.50 an hour plus tips, with current Saturday servers earning up to $16/hour with tips based on the current pace of business.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm, providing detailed descriptions of dishes and specials.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders using Toast POS, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Upsell menu items and beverages to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities.
  • Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and presentation.
  • Manage guest relations by addressing questions, resolving concerns promptly, and ensuring overall satisfaction throughout their visit.
  • Assist with food handling, bussing tables, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas to uphold sanitation standards.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff and host/hostess team to coordinate service flow during busy hours, including nightclubs or fine dining nights.
  • Make tea, lemonade, and coffee prior to opening.

Skills

  • Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, particularly in fine dining or nightlife settings.
  • Strong knowledge of POS systems
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively and professionally.
  • Ability to upsell menu items confidently to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Effective time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during peak hours.
  • Basic math skills for cash handling, billing accuracy, and transaction processing.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
