Overview
We are seeking a friendly, attentive Server to join our dynamic food service team @ Waxed Vinyl Music Lounge. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional guest experiences in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that all patrons receive attentive service and high-quality food and beverage offerings. Experience in fine dining or hospitality settings is preferred, along with strong customer service skills and knowledge of food safety standards. This role offers an opportunity to work in a vibrant atmosphere where guest relations and teamwork are valued.

Duties

• Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm
• Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems.
• Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales
• Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
• Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering responsibilities
• Ensure proper sanitation and food safety protocols are followed during food handling and serving
• Assist with bussing tables, cleaning, and resetting tables for new guests
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders
• Maintain a clean and organized work station throughout shifts
• Provide guest relations by addressing questions or concerns promptly and professionally

Skills

• Proven experience in food service, restaurant, or hospitality environments, especially fine dining or nightclub settings
• Strong knowledge of POS systems
• Excellent customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction and guest relations
• Effective time management to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy periods
• Ability to upsell menu items through suggestive selling techniques like upselling strategies
• Basic math skills for handling bills, cash handling, and transactions accurately
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures
• Experience with food preparation or kitchen operations is a plus but not required
• Familiarity with reservation systems like OpenTable is advantageous
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights; previous host/hostess experience is beneficial
