Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and assist with seating arrangements, ensuring a smooth flow of service.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring timely delivery.
- Provide detailed menu descriptions and recommend specials or wine pairings to enhance guest experience.
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and sanitation.
- Upsell menu items and beverages to maximize sales opportunities while respecting guest preferences.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties, while maintaining accountability.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all areas including tables, service stations, and dining areas.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure food safety standards are met during food preparation and serving.
- Assist with bussing tables, resetting for new guests, and supporting host/hostess duties when needed.
- Use openTable or similar reservation systems to manage bookings and optimize guest flow during busy hours.
- Demonstrate excellent guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
- Follow all food safety regulations and sanitation procedures diligently to ensure a safe dining environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred; fine dining experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of food handling, sanitation practices, and food safety regulations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally.
- Proven time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy periods.
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently while maintaining guest satisfaction.
- Experience with reservation systems like OpenTable is advantageous.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, billing accuracy, and quick calculations.
- Knowledge of the food industry trends including culinary techniques and beverage pairings is beneficial.
