Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and assist with seating arrangements, ensuring a smooth flow of service.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring timely delivery.
• Provide detailed menu descriptions and recommend specials or wine pairings to enhance guest experience.
• Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and sanitation.
• Upsell menu items and beverages to maximize sales opportunities while respecting guest preferences.
• Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties, while maintaining accountability.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all areas including tables, service stations, and dining areas.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure food safety standards are met during food preparation and serving.
• Assist with bussing tables, resetting for new guests, and supporting host/hostess duties when needed.
• Use openTable or similar reservation systems to manage bookings and optimize guest flow during busy hours.
• Demonstrate excellent guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
• Follow all food safety regulations and sanitation procedures diligently to ensure a safe dining environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred; fine dining experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of food handling, sanitation practices, and food safety regulations.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally.
• Proven time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy periods.
• Ability to upsell menu items confidently while maintaining guest satisfaction.
• Experience with reservation systems like OpenTable is advantageous.
• Basic math skills for cash handling, billing accuracy, and quick calculations.
• Knowledge of the food industry trends including culinary techniques and beverage pairings is beneficial.
