JOB TITLE: Server
REPORTS TO: Restaurant Managers
SUPERVISES: NA
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:
To deliver prompt and excellent service to ensure an exceptional guest experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES:
· Respond to guest requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.
· Knowledge of the sequence of service: Explanation of daily specials, food order, mis-en-place for table, serve appetizer, serve entrée,
· Expected to record orders, present accurate bills, collect proper payment and secure payment until cashing out.
· Check with guest periodically to ensure satisfaction, dessert and coffee service, presentation of check.
· Ability to up-sell and increase check averages.
· Ensure cleanliness of side station and ensure supplies are available.
· Bus tables as next course becomes available.
· Remaining and being seen on the restaurant floor at all times.
· Transport all dirty tableware from dining room to dishwashing area for proper cleaning.
· Abide by hotel and sanitation guidelines.
· Knowledge of hotel programs and promotions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· High intensity and a stressful environment as it pertain to cover counts.
· Must be able to lift and carry minimum of 30 pounds.
· Standing for 90 % of work shift is required.
· Activities include standing, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, handling, lifting, carrying, seeing, hearing, talking, walking.
SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
· Knowledge and identity of food items.
· Able to anticipate guest’s needs.
· Efficiency and attention to detail, maintaining a keen sense of urgency at all times.
· Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment
· Must be self-directed, motivated and demonstrate exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills at all times.
· Ability to access and input information into Micros system.
· Ability to exert physical effort in transporting trays and wine buckets from service area to guest.
· Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision.
· Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
· Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
· Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Two years experience as a server preferred.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:
· Food Handler’s Certificate required.
· Must be minimum age to serve alcohol.
· CPR Certification and/or First Aid Training preferred.
