Poppy + Rose is a chef-driven, nostalgic American restaurant located in the Downtown LA Flower Market. We are known for elevated comfort food, high-energy brunch service, and warm hospitality.

Position Overview

We are hiring a Server with strong barista experience who understands that great hospitality means being versatile and hands-on.

At Poppy + Rose, all FOH team members are trained in and expected to confidently support:

• Server
• Barista
• Host
• Expo / Food Running

Your primary responsibilities will be serving and beverage preparation, but you must be comfortable stepping into any position as needed to support the team.

This is not a “that’s not my job” environment. We win together.

ResponsibilitiesService

• Provide attentive, friendly, and efficient table service
• Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS system
• Deliver food and beverages promptly
• Bus, reset, and clean tables quickly and properly
• Maintain cleanliness of dining room.
• Manage takeout and delivery orders as needed
• Maintain strong menu knowledge, including dietary accommodations

Barista & Beverage Responsibilities

• Prepare all espresso beverages to recipe standards
• Steam milk properly and consistently
• Maintain espresso equipment and cleanliness of coffee station
• Prepare and serve beer, wine, and wine-based cocktails
• Handle all beverage production for the restaurant during service
• Monitor beverage pars and communicate inventory needs to management

Host & Expo Support

• Greet guests and manage waitlists when needed
• Assist in managing table flow and seating
• Run food accurately and efficiently
• Communicate with BOH regarding ticket times and modifications

Team & Cleanliness

• Complete opening, running, and closing side work
• Maintain restrooms, service stations, and shared FOH spaces
• Support teammates during peak brunch hours
• Uphold a clean, organized, and professional environment at all times

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years restaurant experience required
• Strong barista/espresso experience required
• Comfortable preparing beer, wine, and wine-based cocktails
• High-volume brunch experience preferred
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to multitask under pressure
• Professional, team-first mindset
• Food Handler certification required
• RBS certification required

Physical Requirements

• Stand for 6+ hours
• Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
