We are looking for an experienced Service Dispatch Operations Manager who thrives in a fast-paced home services environment and knows how to keep a team of skilled technicians and dispatchers moving efficiently.
Position Overview
The Service Dispatch Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day scheduling, dispatch, and call flow for our HVAC, plumbing, and electrical divisions. This leader ensures full schedule capacity, efficient routing, and excellent customer communication, while coaching the dispatch team to deliver top-tier service and strong revenue performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of dispatchers, providing daily direction, coaching, and performance oversight
- Manage daily scheduling and dispatching of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical technicians
- Monitor technician routes and job progress throughout the day, adjusting schedules as needed
- Make proactive outbound calls to customers to fill open slots and keep the technician schedule at full capacity
- Identify and act on scheduling gaps throughout the day to maximize technician productivity and revenue
- Communicate with customers regarding appointment windows, delays, and follow-ups
- Prioritize service calls, including emergency and after-hours requests
- Enter and maintain accurate job records, notes, and statuses in our field service management software
- Coordinate with service managers and technicians to maximize productivity and minimize drive time
- Track parts, work orders, and job completion to ensure a smooth billing handoff
- Handle inbound calls and dispatch communications professionally
- Participate in on-call rotation to support after-hours and emergency service coverage
- Assist in onboarding and training new dispatch staff
Qualifications
- 2+ years of dispatch or scheduling experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or related home services
- Experience managing or supervising a dispatch team preferred
- Experience with field service management or CRM software required; HouseCall Pro, ServiceTitan, Jobber, or similar strongly preferred
- Strong multitasking and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills with both customers and field technicians
- Ability to stay calm, organized, and detail-oriented under pressure
- Proficiency with computers, scheduling tools, and call handling systems
Schedule
- Monday – Friday, standard business hours
- On-call rotation required for after-hours, weekend, and emergency service coverage
Compensation & Benefits
- $60,000 – $80,000 per year, based on experience
