Service Dispatcher (Commercial Electrical)

Duties

• Coordinate and schedule electrical service appointments by efficiently dispatching technicians to client locations using vehicle dispatch software and transportation management systems.
• Manage multi-line phone systems to handle customer inquiries, appointment requests, and emergency dispatches with professionalism and clarity.
• Utilize GPS and GIS tools to optimize routing, monitor fleet movements, and ensure timely arrivals for service calls.
• Maintain accurate data entry in logistics databases such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine, ensuring all dispatch records are current and precise.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams through internal communication platforms to relay updates, changes, or urgent requests related to service operations.
• Oversee shipping & receiving processes for parts and equipment needed for electrical projects, coordinating with 3PL providers when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations during vehicle dispatching and transportation planning activities while adhering to safety standards.
• Support supply chain activities by tracking freight movements, managing vehicle fleet management tasks, and assisting in logistics analysis for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with transportation planning, road transportation operations, or logistics coordination within a commercial electrical or related industry.
• Strong knowledge of transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar platforms like SyteLine.
• Familiarity with vehicle dispatch software, fleet management tools, GPS/GIS technology, and shipping & receiving procedures.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, and phone etiquette for managing customer interactions professionally via multi-line phone systems. Spanish is a plus
• Ability to analyze logistical data using analysis skills to improve dispatch efficiency and service delivery.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations related to vehicle dispatching and transportation safety standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel for data entry and reporting purposes.
• Strong internal communication skills to coordinate seamlessly across departments involved in service delivery and logistics operations.
