Job Title: Medical Equipment Service Engineer

Job Summary:
The Medical Equipment Service Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of a wide range of medical and laboratory equipment. This role ensures that all medical devices operate safely, effectively, and in compliance with regulatory standards. The engineer will provide on-site and remote technical support to healthcare facilities, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance of critical equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation & Commissioning: Install, configure, and test new medical equipment at customer sites according to manufacturer specifications.
- Maintenance & Calibration: Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and safety checks on a wide range of medical devices to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Repairs & Troubleshooting: Diagnose technical issues and perform repairs efficiently, minimizing equipment downtime.
- Technical Support: Provide technical advice and training to clinical and technical staff on equipment operation and care.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed service records, calibration certificates, and maintenance reports in line with company and regulatory requirements.
- Compliance: Ensure all work complies with health and safety standards, ISO quality procedures, and relevant medical device regulations.
- Inventory Management: Manage spare parts, tools, and service kits to ensure efficient workflow.
- Customer Relations: Build strong professional relationships with hospital and clinic staff, ensuring customer satisfaction and trust.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with new technologies, manufacturer updates, and industry best practices.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in medical equipment servicing or biomedical engineering.
- Hands-on experience with equipment such as patient monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, analyzers, imaging systems, or sterilization equipment is preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong diagnostic and repair abilities.
- Understanding of electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with hospital safety and infection control protocols.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls.
- Licenses/Certifications: training certificates, ISO 13485 familiarity, or relevant regulatory compliance training.
Working Conditions:
- Field-based role with travel to hospitals, clinics, and laboratories.
- May require occasional on-call or weekend support for urgent service requests.
- Physical activity including lifting, carrying, and handling of technical equipment.
