Job Title: Marine Service Engineer – NAVCOM

Job Summary:
- The Marine Service Engineer – NAVCOM is responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and technical support of navigation and communication (NAVCOM) systems onboard vessels, yachts, and boats. The role involves both planned and unplanned service activities, ensuring the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out installation and commissioning of NAVCOM equipment on customers’ vessels, yachts, and boats.
- Handle work on VDR-APT’s, navigation equipment, GMDSS equipment, etc.
- Manage retrofit projects, handling complete bridge installations and large system integrations.
- Work closely with the service coordinators to ensure the most efficient use of time and services.
- Provide technical support to customers and the company’s sales and service agents.
- Perform surveys and inspections of ship radio communications and radio navigational installations, subject to possessing the appropriate qualifications, accreditations, and experience.
- Carry out unplanned maintenance in the event of a failure or malfunction, with the objective of restoring normal operations as quickly as possible.
- Manage spare requisitions as per project requirements.
- Provide technical reports and documentation.
- Conduct quality assurance and safety checks on all equipment.
- Use hand tools and power tools.
Prepare and maintain detailed test and inspection records.
- Educate customers on the operation of the installed equipment.
- Complete work within the agreed budget and schedule.
- Attend offshore jobs as required
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Electronics, Electrical / Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 1–5 years of experience in marine electronics installation and service (NAVCOM systems).
- Hands-on experience with radar, ECDIS, AIS, VDR, GMDSS, and autopilot systems.
- Knowledge of IMO, SOLAS, and Class requirements.
- Valid certifications for GMDSS / VDR APT / Radio Survey (advantageous).
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
Experience with major brands like Furuno, JRC, Sperry Marine, or Simrad is a significant advantage.
- Willingness to travel and work offshore/onboard vessels as required.
