Service & Maintenance Engineer

Position: Service & Maintenance Engineer – Smart Card Personalization Machines Role

Overview:

A technically skilled and customer-focused Service & Maintenance Engineer to manage installation, servicing, and lifecycle maintenance of smart card personalization equipment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring system uptime, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. In addition to core engineering responsibilities, the role requires flexibility to support personalization operations during low technical activity periods.

Key Responsibilities:
Installation & Commissioning Install and configure smart card printers and personalization machines (desktop & bureau level) Perform system setup including hardware integration, driver installation, and application configuration Ensure successful commissioning Service & Preventive Maintenance Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance to ensure optimal machine performance Perform calibration, cleaning, and replacement of consumables and spare parts Maintain accurate service reports and maintenance logs Troubleshooting & Technical Support Diagnose and resolve technical issues, including: o Card jams / feeder issues o Print quality defects o Encoding errors (magnetic stripe, chip, contact/contactless) o Basic electrical, electronic, or mechanical faults Provide support with defined turnaround times Provide basic user training on machine operation and preventive care IT & System Support Perform basic computer hardware troubleshooting (RAM, storage, peripherals) Install and configure operating systems and application software Handle networking basics including IP configuration and connectivity troubleshooting Cross-Functional Operational Support (Secondary Responsibility) Support card personalization operations during periods of low field service activity Assist in: o Card personalization processes (printing/encoding support under supervision) o Quality checks and verification - Packaging and fulfillment activities o Ensure strict adherence to security, compliance, and data protection standards o Collaborate with operations teams to meet production timelines and SLAs o Handle administrative tasks related to personalization operations, including:

▪ Maintaining job records, production logs, and issuance reports

▪ Updating tracking systems and ensuring accurate data entry

▪ Coordinating with internal teams for job scheduling and status updates

▪ Supporting inventory tracking of consumables (cards, ribbons, packaging materials)

▪ Ensuring documentation compliance as per internal and client requirements.

Pay: RO325.000 - RO375.000 per month
