Service Manager

The Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the service and repair operations, ensuring efficient workflow, excellent customer service, and maintaining high-quality standards. They manage a team of technicians and staff to ensure the timely and accurate completion of vehicle repairs and services.


Duties and Responsibilities:


Team Management:

•Supervise, mentor, and motivate technicians, mechanics, and support staff.

•Assign tasks, manage work schedules, and ensure a balanced workload among the team members.

•Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify training needs for continuous improvement.


Workflow Management:

•Coordinate and oversee the workflow in the workshop, ensuring timely and efficient completion of repairs and services.

•Prioritize repair jobs based on urgency, customer needs, and available resources.

•Monitor and optimize productivity, ensuring the team meets or exceeds performance targets.


Quality Control:

•Implement and maintain high-quality standards for vehicle repairs and services.

•Conduct regular inspections of completed repairs to ensure they meet dealership and manufacturer standards.

•Address and rectify any substandard work, ensuring customer safety and satisfaction.


Customer Service:

•Interact with customers to understand their vehicle issues and provide accurate repair estimates.

•Ensure excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally and promptly.

•Maintain open communication with customers, keeping them informed about the status of their vehicles and any additional repairs needed.


Documentation and Record Keeping:

•Maintain detailed records of repairs, including parts used, labor hours, and diagnostic findings.

•Complete repair orders and document all work performed accurately and comprehensively.

•Collaborate with the service advisor and parts department to ensure accurate billing and parts ordering.


Parts and Inventory Management:

•Manage workshop inventory, ensuring the availability of necessary parts and supplies for repairs.

•Coordinate with the parts department to order and restock parts in a timely manner.

•Verify received parts for accuracy and quality, and distribute them to technicians as needed.

•Monitor parts usage, track inventory turnover rates, and identify slow-moving or obsolete parts.


Health and Safety:

•Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations.

•Conduct regular safety training sessions for workshop employees.

•Maintain a clean and safe working environment, addressing any hazards or potential risks promptly.


Vendor and Supplier Management:

•Communicate with suppliers regarding order status, product availability, and pricing.

•Negotiate with suppliers for favorable terms, discounts, and promotions.

•Foster positive relationships with suppliers to enhance collaboration and resolve issues effectively.


Financial Management:

•Develop and manage budgets for the workshop, ensuring cost control and profitability.

•Monitor expenses, control costs, and maximize revenue through efficient operations.

•Analyze financial reports and key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
