Service Technician III Job Description

Vanderlande is responsible for the Service & Maintenance of the Baggage Handling System at King Fahad International Airport. We are seeking a full time Maintenance Technician. The Maintenance Technicians are the main responders to emergency situations and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance at the mechanical and electrical level of the material handling system during dwell periods between flights and other non operational hours.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems.
• React to messages from the Control Room or manager.
• Perform preventive maintenance - inspection, adjustment, cleaning, replacement.
• Attend to stoppages and bag jams.
• Analyze system performance.
• Occasionally monitor system from the Control Room.
• Develop service supporting tools and means.
• Complete CMMS service reports, parts usage and warranty records.
• Research and request spare parts as required and keep track of inventory.
• Work independently on preventive maintenance.
• Identify problems in planning and tooling and provide input for improvements.
• Independently correct standard faults.
• Perform preventive maintenance and follow up on corrective maintenance work orders.
• Always exercise safe working practice, complying with Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance.
• Must demonstrate continued education through certifications in electrical and/or mechanical systems from accredited colleges, vocational schools, or OEMs appropriate to the job level.
• Basic understanding of electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
• Versed in operations and maintenance.
• Flexibility with time, able to shift priorities quickly based on staff and system needs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proactive with a strong work ethic and initiative; someone who would like to grow and develop within the organization.
• Ability to work independently.
