Sewer Foreman/Excavator Operator
Long & Sons Utility is one of the foremost wet utility contractors in upstate SC for the last 30 years. We are continuously looking to add experience and expertise while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

Currently we are seeking Excavator Operators/ Working Foremen (Superintendents) to lead crews on installation of sewer lines in new construction subdivisions across the upstate.

Responsibilities:

· Supervise 4-5 person sewer crew
· Verify daily job material quantities
· Operate 30-50 ton excavator to excavate, backfill, and compact trenches
· Specify and maintain trench shielding and shoring for each task
· Coach and assist crew members as necessary for training and troubleshooting
· Test all installs after completion

Pay dependent on experience.

Requirements

· Be able to understand drawings to determine grade and elevation
· Have experience locating and soft digging underground utilities
· Perform equipment pre-start inspections, lubrication, and basic maintenance
· Familiar with soil compaction and compaction equipment
· Minimum 3 years of experience operating 20+ ton excavators
· Certified Competent Person for Trench Safety and Confines Spaces
· Coach crew members and new hires as needed
· Though not labor positions, must be able to lift 50+ Lbs. and assist in pipe laying operations and troubleshooting
· Must have a clean 7yr driving record and be able to drive company vehicles

All hires must pass E-Verify, and Drug screen.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $23.50 per hour
