Job Title: Sheeter Machine Operator – Cross Cut (Roll to Sheet)
Job Summary:
The Sheeter Machine Operator is responsible for operating roll-to-sheet (cross cut) machines to convert paper rolls into accurately cut sheets according to production specifications. The operator ensures correct sheet size, clean cutting, minimal wastage, and smooth machine performance while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate roll-to-sheet cross cut (sheeter) machines.
- Load jumbo paper rolls onto the unwind stand using hoist or lifting equipment.
- Adjust web alignment, tension control, and sheet length settings.
- Set cutting parameters to ensure accurate cross cutting and clean edges.
- Monitor sheet squareness, size accuracy, and stacking alignment.
- Inspect sheets for defects such as uneven edges, curl, wrinkles, or damage.
- Control production speed to maintain quality and minimize waste.
- Perform routine machine cleaning and preventive maintenance.
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical or feeding issues and report major problems to maintenance.
- Maintain daily production reports including output, wastage, and downtime.
- Ensure safe handling of paper rolls and follow company safety procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High school diploma or technical certification preferred.
- Minimum 2–5 years experience operating roll-to-sheet or cross cut machines in paper converting/printing industry.
- Knowledge of web tension control and sheet size adjustment.
- Ability to read job orders and production specifications.
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Physically fit to handle paper rolls and stand for long hours.
