Shelf Stocker

SEYMOUR JOHNSON AFB COMMISSARY

Must be able to pass a background check- no prior felonies

SHELF STOCKER/ Night Shift/ Hours vary/ 6-days a week.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Perform shelf-stocking duties in accordance with standards of contract and as directed by the Lead Shelf Stocker

· Workers must perform in efficient and productive manner while maintaining quality standards

· Observe safety awareness at all times and avoid hazardous working conditions

· Use equipment properly at all times

· Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and placed in the designated area at the end of each shift

· Participate in meetings and training as required

· Report all accidents or security incidents to proper authority immediately

· Ensure contents of case to be stocked will fit on shelf. Do not stock partial cases.

Specific Duties:

· Read shelf/merchandise labels

· Place merchandise on shelves according to shelf labels/plan-o-gram.

· Stage merchandise in correct aisle section if required.

· Open cases.

· Perform shelf stocking tasks using first in - first out (FIFO) method to include date codes.

· Repair shelf labels and place Not In Stock (NIS) labels as needed.

· Repair merchandise labels as needed.

· Face, straighten and clean all merchandise/display fixtures prior to stocking.

· Front merchandise

· Remove damaged merchandise from shelf. Place in designated cart.

· Place display signs, posters, shelf decorations and other sales media

· Break down empty cardboard cases and place in cardboard cart.

· Use cardboard cutting tool, as directed, to create tray pack merchandise displays.

· Return all stocking equipment to designated area in a neat, clean and orderly manner.

· Ensure, when using cutting (box) tools that safety precautions are complied with at all times.

· Ensure caution is taken in handling of all merchandise and equipment to prevent any damage.

· Perform other tasks assigned by the Lead Worker/Project Manager in order to meet contract requirements and record cases/time in other projects.

Required Knowledge Skills and Experience:

· Experience working with or supervision of persons with disabilities preferred

· Experience in shelf stocking in a commissary/supermarket environment preferred.

· Be familiar with product location in warehouse

· Understand shelf stocking policies/procedures

· Able to pull pallet jack with load of products

· Able to work for periods of time without assistance/supervision and complete the duties as described above.

· Willing to work flexible hours within a nighttime schedule

· Work well with personnel throughout the organization and with military personnel

· Lift approximately 50 pounds of weight repeatedly

· Work without error under stress of time constraints to complete specific tasks

· Demonstrate academic abilities at a level sufficient to perform the duties above.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.75 per hour
