Shift Leader – Barista

The Shift Leader – Barista is responsible for supervising daily store operations during their shift, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining product quality, and supporting the barista team. This role combines hands-on barista work with leadership and operational responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership:
  • Supervise and motivate barista staff during the shift.
  • Delegate tasks, manage workflow, and ensure team productivity.
  • Provide on-the-job training and coaching for baristas.
  • Customer Service:
  • Ensure excellent customer experience at all times.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally.
  • Barista Duties:
  • Prepare coffee and other beverages according to company standards.
  • Maintain quality control and presentation for all drinks and food items.
  • Operational Management:
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate stock needs to management.
  • Ensure all equipment is clean, maintained, and functioning properly.
  • Oversee shift opening and closing procedures.
  • Health & Safety Compliance:
  • Ensure hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards are maintained.
  • Comply with company policies and local regulations.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Previous experience as a barista with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and café operations.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
