Shall be responsible for coordinating and managing inbound and outbound logistics activities, ensuring the timely, compliant, and cost-effective transportation of materials and equipment to and from the Facilities.
- Plan, supervise, and coordinate daily activities of Heavy Duty Drivers, Forklift Operators, and supporting personnel to ensure uninterrupted operational flow across raw material, finished product, and container movements.
- Prepare, review, and submit all required reports in a timely and accurate manner, including operational status reports, technical reports, and performance summaries to the Internal Transport Coordinator.
- Monitor vehicle and equipment condition, ensuring timely follow-up of preventive and corrective maintenance with workshops, and provide regular status updates to Qatalum stakeholders.
- Utilize IT systems (e.g., SAP, Intranet, and other digital tools) to manage inventory, track container movements, and raise notifications for equipment breakdowns or operational issues.
- Supervise personnel performance, conduct regular evaluations, and provide coaching, guidance, and corrective actions where necessary to maintain high performance standards.
- Ensure effective coordination with all relevant departments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date operational and personnel records, including route logs, inspection reports, fuel usage, timesheets, and attendance records, ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Enforce strict adherence to HSE, security policies, and SOPs, promoting a strong safety culture across all activities.
- Lead incident reporting, preliminary investigations, and corrective action follow-ups in coordination with relevant department.departments.
- Provide operational support when required, including assisting in container inspections, documentation, and verification activities.
- Ensure effective communication across shifts and maintain proper handover practices to guarantee continuity of operations.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the Company to support the efficient and effective execution of operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related discipline, or a Diploma with relevant experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in logistics, transport operations, or warehouse management within heavy industries such as aluminium smelting, oil & gas, steel, or manufacturing, including at least two (2) years in a supervisory role.
- Proven experience in supervising multi-disciplinary teams, including drivers, forklift operators, and warehouse personnel, within a 24/7 operational environment.
- Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, with working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP (MM Module) for inventory management, reporting, and operational tracking.
- Strong understanding of logistics operations, including transportation planning, fleet coordination, material handling, container management, and inventory control.
- Sound knowledge of HSE regulations, incident reporting, and safe working practices within industrial environments.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage operations across multiple shifts and stakeholders.
