Shop Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and reliable individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Shop Assistant on a part time basis . This position primarily involves assisting with various tasks related to shop cleanup, woodworking, and furniture assembly. The ideal candidate should have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, ability to follow directions.

Responsibilities:

- Perform general shop cleanup duties to maintain a clean and organized working environment.

- Sand tables and other wood surfaces to ensure smooth finishes.

- Assist with planing lumber to the required specifications.

-Apply Paint or Stain to achieve a high quality appearance and finish

- Stack lumber in an organized manner

- Assemble furniture according to provided instructions and guidelines.

- Safely operate hand tools and power tools under supervision.

- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to minimize workplace hazards.

- Assist senior staff members with various woodworking tasks as directed.

- Perform Weekly Inventory Checklist

- Assist In Furniture Delivery

Requirements:

- ability to pass a drug test

- Basic knowledge of woodworking tools and equipment is preferred but not required; training will be provided.

- Physical strength and ability to lift heavy objects weighing between 50-100 lbs.

- Ability to follow instructions

- Strong work ethic and reliability.

- Basic knowledge of workplace safety practices.

This is an entry-level position suitable for individuals seeking practical experience in woodworking and furniture assembly. The position would be a great fit for someone in high school or college. We can work around your schedule and can expect 15-20 hours per week.
