Position Information:

The Deputy Probate Estate Manager I receives training and performs entry level work related to securing, inventorying, preserving and overseeing the proper disposal of property and assets of deceased persons in those instances provided by law; conducts heir research; and performs related work as required.

This position is in a flexibly staffed class series. The hiring department has the discretion to hire at any level within the class series for which the applicant may be qualified. Applicants interested in being considered for each level within the series must submit an application for each position.

Area of Assignment: The Deputy Probate Estate Manager I/II works collaboratively in a team environment to research and identify the next of kin estate assets, manage, secure and prepare to liquidate estate assets including vehicles, personal property items and homes. Investigation of estates include: online research, onsite searches and interviewing family and acquaintances of the deceased.

Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, social work, sociology, archaeology, forensic science, or a closely related field OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.

License or Certificate

A valid driver’s license is required at the time of appointment and must be maintained for continued employment in this classification.

Pay: $67,433.60 - $87,651.20 per year
