The Signage Production Manager is responsible for converting client requirements, approved designs, site conditions and project drawings into practical, buildable and installation-ready signage solutions. The role covers product identification, technical coordination, shop drawing review, material selection, fabrication planning, engineering coordination and final execution control until the project is delivered correctly on site.

Main Responsibilities1. Product & Solution Identification

  • Understand client requirements, project scope, site conditions and approval comments.
  • Identify the correct signage product type, material, lighting method, fixing system and fabrication approach.
  • Propose practical solutions for indoor and outdoor signage, wayfinding, branding, illuminated signs, pylons, totems, wall signs, acrylic signs, vinyl graphics and custom sign structures.
  • Evaluate whether the proposed design is technically buildable, safe, durable and suitable for the location.
  • Coordinate with sales, design and project teams to make sure the offered solution matches the final execution method.

2. Drawing Reading & Technical Review

  • Read architectural drawings, elevations, sections, reflected ceiling plans, structural details and site layouts.
  • Review client drawings, consultant comments, mall management comments and authority requirements.
  • Check dimensions, fixing locations, material thicknesses, lighting details, access requirements and installation limitations.
  • Identify missing information before fabrication starts.
  • Mark up drawings clearly for designers, draftsmen, fabricators and installers.

3. Shop Drawings & Engineering Coordination

  • Guide the preparation of signage shop drawings, fabrication drawings, section details and installation details.
  • Ensure drawings show correct dimensions, materials, structural support, fixing methods, wiring paths, access panels and finishing requirements.
  • Coordinate with structural engineers when load calculations, support frames, wind load checks or special fixing details are required.
  • Review and approve internal drawings before submission or production.
  • Make sure approved drawings are practical for fabrication and installation, not just visually acceptable.

4. Fabrication & Production Management

  • Plan production workflow based on approved drawings, project deadlines and material availability.
  • Coordinate with CNC, laser cutting, welding, acrylic, ACP, painting, vinyl, LED and assembly teams.
  • Issue clear production instructions to the factory team.
  • Check material usage, cutting sizes, finishes, lighting components and assembly methods.
  • Monitor production quality at each stage to avoid rework, wrong sizes, poor finishing or installation failure.
  • Ensure fabricated items match approved drawings and client specifications.

5. Material & Technical Specification Control

  • Select suitable materials such as ACP, acrylic, stainless steel, aluminium, GI, MS structure, vinyl, LEDs, drivers and fixing accessories.
  • Check thickness, finish, durability, illumination, waterproofing and safety requirements.
  • Confirm that materials are suitable for indoor, outdoor, mall, retail, office, façade or roof installations.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for technical data, samples and availability.
  • Control substitutions and make sure any material change is technically acceptable before use.

6. Project Execution & Site Coordination

  • Conduct site surveys when needed to verify dimensions, structure, access and installation conditions.
  • Coordinate with project managers and installation teams before site execution.
  • Ensure installers understand the approved fixing method, alignment, levels, wiring route and safety requirements.
  • Solve site issues related to structure, access, concealed fixing, lighting, alignment or unexpected site conditions.
  • Inspect completed installations and confirm that the final work matches the approved drawings and required finish.

7. Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Maintain quality control during fabrication and installation.
  • Ensure signage is structurally safe, securely fixed and suitable for its environment.
  • Check electrical safety for illuminated signs, LED modules, drivers and wiring.
  • Ensure waterproofing, drainage, access panels and maintenance points are properly considered.
  • Follow company standards, project requirements, mall guidelines and relevant authority comments.
  • Reduce technical risk before production and installation, because apparently fixing mistakes after installation is still considered “a bad business model.”

8. Team Coordination & Leadership

  • Coordinate between sales, design, drafting, procurement, fabrication, painting, electrical and installation teams.
  • Give clear technical instructions and resolve conflicts between design intent and production reality.
  • Train junior team members on signage fabrication logic, materials, fixing methods and drawing interpretation.
  • Track production progress and report delays, risks and required decisions to management.
  • Support the team in delivering technically correct, clean and professional signage projects.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in signage production, fabrication, project execution or technical coordination.
  • Strong experience in custom signage, illuminated signs, wayfinding signs, acrylic signs, ACP signs, metal structures and vinyl graphics.
  • Experience in reading and reviewing shop drawings, sections, elevations and fabrication details.
  • Experience in UAE signage projects, mall projects, retail fit-out or authority approval environments is preferred.

Required Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of signage materials, fabrication methods and installation systems.
  • Ability to read architectural and technical drawings.
  • Ability to guide or review AutoCAD shop drawings.
  • Knowledge of structural support logic, fixing details and concealed mounting methods.
  • Knowledge of LED signage, wiring, drivers, access panels and waterproofing requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving ability during production and site installation.
  • Ability to convert design concepts into practical production-ready solutions.

Software Knowledge

  • AutoCAD knowledge is required.
  • Adobe Illustrator/CorelDRAW knowledge is an advantage.
  • MS Excel / project tracking tools are preferred.
  • Ability to review PDF drawings, markups and technical submissions.

Personal Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Practical factory and site understanding.
  • Clear communication with production and installation teams.
  • Ability to work under project deadlines.
  • Strong ownership of technical decisions.
  • Ability to prevent mistakes before they reach fabrication or site.
  • Leadership mindset with hands-on problem solving.
