Head Civil Engineer – Construction Contracting Company

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Civil Engineer to lead and oversee all operations of our construction contracting company.

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with proven leadership and business acumen to ensure the successful planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects.

This role requires a results-driven professional who can lead multidisciplinary teams, manage client relationships, and ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and financial targets.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Direct and manage all phases of construction projects from initiation to completion.
• Develop and implement company strategy, policies, and procedures to ensure growth and sustainability.
• Lead project planning, resource allocation, and decision-making at the executive level.

Project Management

• Oversee bidding, tendering, and contract negotiations.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
• Coordinate with architects, subcontractors, consultants, and government authorities.
• Monitor project progress, conduct risk assessments, and implement corrective actions.

Technical Oversight

• Provide expert guidance on design, structural integrity, and construction methodologies.
• Review and approve engineering designs, shop drawings, and material specifications.
• Ensure strict adherence to quality assurance and safety protocols.

Financial & Business Management

• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for ongoing and upcoming projects.
• Optimize resource utilization and cost-efficiency across all company operations.
• Identify new business opportunities and contribute to business development efforts.

Team Leadership & Development

• Manage, mentor, and develop engineering and project management staff.
• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
• Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in construction, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record in managing large-scale residential, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of local building codes, UAE/International standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in project management software (Primavera, MS Project, AutoCAD, etc.).
• Fluency in English (Arabic is an advantage).
