Site Electrical Engineer

One of Dubai’s leading Engineering consultancy, architecture and environmental companies with a diversified business in the building industry is looking to hire “Electrical Engineer”

Responsibilities (but not limited):

• Carry out detailed site survey related to electrical scope.
• Prepare concept design, electrical load schedules, single line diagram, fire alarm layout and all related to electrical works.
• Validate design issues related to Electrical and suggest alternative solutions. Review and coordination of general design work including but not limited to, layout drawings, electrical and plumbing drawings, wall plinth & recess drawings, details for civil works, equipment details and elevations and in general the detailing and planning of all drawing work necessary for the successful completion.
• Review and preparation of equipment capacity, sizing and make/model selection and generating schedules of manufactured and fabricated equipment with all relevant Electrical & Mechanical information, preparation of project time schedules, Electrical loads and schedules, preparing written specifications of manufactured and fabricated equipment including accessories and parts, equipment budgeting, and in general compilations of all documents necessary for compilation of the tender documents.
• Assist in the receipt and review of Electrical & MEP submittals. Taking approval from concerned authorities such as DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, FEWA and making sure work is done as per the regulations of Electrical engineering practices of the relevant Emirate in coordination with Civil Defense & Municipality. Quantification of Variations as per revised drawings / specification and follow-up with Main Contracts / Project Managers for Site Work Instruction. (SWI) Direct and manage project from inception to completion as per work schedule related to Electrical in coordination with fit-out execution team.
• Participating in Client/ Consultants/ Contractor meetings and resolving Client/ Engineering/ Design and project management issues. Active project and site supervision and control of sub-contractors, acceptance of works, testing and commissioning of facilities, control of maintenance contracts.
• Manage multiple projects and ensure to have adequate manpower, materials, tools for timely progress in order to achieve timely project completion.
• Carryout pre and post contract site evaluation Must have perfect knowledge and information of local authority standards such as DEWA, ADDC, SEWA & FEWA

Requirements :

1. Very wide & excellent experience in Electrical Site Supervision.

2. Minimum 10 years relevant experience in Electrical Site Supervision of high-rise buildings with vast exposure with major developers in UAE.

3. Recent experience of HV, MV & LV electrical design to local and international standards

4. Must have thorough knowledge of National Electrical Code, IEEE, ANSI, IESNA, NFPA and IEC and various local authority standards in the GCC like DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, FEWA, SEC, MEDC, Civil Defense, etc.

5. Strong infrastructure engineering background with previous experience on infrastructure projects Understanding of the requirements for primary substations /11 kV, HV corridor, Block work distribution substations, pocket substations, feeder pillars and service turrets, MV systems up to 33kV, LV networks, calculations, and report writing skills.

6. Extensive knowledge of SEC standards, design of and LV networks and Preparation of performance specifications for kV Additional experience in the fields of power systems design and analysis and building services would be an advantage.

7. Experience of liaising with DEWA for obtaining Power Supply Master Plan Approvals, Load NOCs, LV Design Approvals, HV Design Approvals, 11 KV Substations, Getting Electricity applications, etc.

8. Approval from DM would be added advantage. Registration with DEWA as electrical engineer will be also considered as an added advantage.

Monthly Package: AED 14,000 - 22,000
