Site Electrical Engineer – MEP Company

The Site Electrical Engineer is responsible for supervising and executing electrical installation works at construction sites for MEP projects. The role ensures all electrical activities are completed according to approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project schedules. The Site Electrical Engineer coordinates with site teams, subcontractors, consultants, and other MEP disciplines to ensure smooth project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day electrical installation activities at project sites.
  • Review electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documents before execution.
  • Ensure electrical works are carried out according to approved shop drawings and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with other MEP trades and civil teams to avoid clashes and delays.
  • Monitor site progress and prepare daily/weekly progress reports.
  • Conduct inspections and ensure quality control of electrical installations.
  • Supervise electricians, foremen, and subcontractors on-site.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company HSE policies.
  • Coordinate material delivery, storage, and usage at site.
  • Assist in preparing material submittals, RFIs, and work inspections.
  • Support testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Attend site meetings with consultants, clients, and subcontractors when required.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues during project execution.
  • Maintain project documentation and records related to electrical works.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in MEP/construction projects.
  • Experience in electrical installation works for commercial, residential, or industrial projects.
  • Good knowledge of electrical systems, installation standards, and site coordination.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and single-line diagrams.
  • Familiarity with local authority regulations and safety standards.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and basic reporting tools.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
