Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Site Engineer with hands-on experience in road construction, earth moving operations, and asphalt laying. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the on-site execution of civil works, quality assurance, coordination with subcontractors, and ensuring work is completed according to design specifications, timelines, and safety standards. A valid driving license is essential for this role as frequent travel between sites is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage road construction, earthworks, and asphalt paving activities on site.
- Plan, schedule, and monitor daily site activities ensuring compliance with project timelines.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with surveyors, subcontractors, plant operators, and materials suppliers.
- Review technical drawings and provide guidance to site teams for correct implementation.
- Monitor usage of earthmoving equipment (excavators, graders, compactors, etc.) and ensure proper operation and maintenance.
- Supervise asphalt laying, compaction, and finishing activities to ensure smooth and durable pavement.
- Conduct on-site inspections and prepare progress reports for senior management.
- Liaise with consultants and clients for inspections and approvals.
- Ensure effective implementation of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards.
- Maintain site records, including daily work logs, labor and equipment usage, and material deliveries.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 4–8 years of relevant experience in road and infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in earthwork operations (cutting, filling, leveling) and asphalt paving.
- Sound knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment usage.
- Familiarity with surveying tools, project planning, and AutoCAD is a plus.
- Good understanding of safety procedures and quality control standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Valid driving license and ability to travel between project sites as required.
