Site Engineer

Job Purpose


  • To oversee and manage all on-site construction and technical activities, ensuring that projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and contractual requirements.


  • The role plays a key part in coordinating between project management, site teams, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure timely completion, resource optimization, and adherence to project budgets.


  • The Site Engineer ensures that all works meet organizational standards for quality, safety, and operational excellence while maintaining clear documentation and communication throughout the project lifecycle.


Roles, Responsibilities, Duties


Project Execution & Supervision

  • Lead and manage day-to-day site activities, ensuring all works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Supervise subcontractors, technicians, and workforce to ensure that construction activities meet quality, safety, and productivity standards.
  • Monitor site progress, track milestones, and identify potential issues or delays; recommend and implement corrective actions to maintain delivery targets.
  • Inspect and verify material deliveries, quantities, and workmanship against project and contractual specifications.
  • Support the Project Manager in planning, sequencing, and executing site works efficiently, ensuring alignment with the overall project plan.


Technical Coordination & Documentation

  • Review, interpret, and implement project drawings, technical specifications, shop drawings, and method statements.
  • Provide technical support to resolve on-site challenges, discrepancies, or conflicts related to design and execution.
  • Coordinate with consultants, clients, and internal stakeholders for site inspections, approvals, and design clarifications.
  • Prepare and maintain site documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, inspection requests, and as-built records.
  • Contribute to the preparation of method statements, risk assessments, and work permits to ensure smooth project execution.


Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all site works comply with project specifications, company quality procedures, and applicable codes or standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to verify workmanship, materials, and safety compliance, and take corrective actions when needed.
  • Collaborate with the Quality and HSE teams to enforce safe working practices and maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Promote a safety-first culture by ensuring all personnel adhere to PPE requirements and hazard control measures.
  • Maintain proper documentation for quality and HSE audits, including test reports, inspection records, and safety checklists.


Education & Qualification:


Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.


Certification in Construction Management or AutoCAD is an advantage.


Proficient in technical drawings, MS Office, and AutoCAD.


Knowledge of HSE standards and ISO procedures preferred


Experience and skills:


Industry Experience (No. of years):


  • Minimum 4–6 years in construction, facilities, or engineering projects.


Position/functional experience (No. of years):


  • Minimum 2–4 years in a site supervision or engineering role managing project execution and coordination.



Competencies and Skills:


  • Strong technical knowledge of construction methodologies, project execution, and engineering principles.
