Site Engineer (High-Rise)

Role Summary

The Site Engineer is the frontline supervisor. You are responsible for the physical execution of the works on the "active" floors. In Dubai, this means managing a diverse workforce under extreme conditions while maintaining the strict 7-day floor cycle required for skyscrapers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setting Out & Levels: Oversee the survey team to ensure the building's verticality (plumbness) is maintained as it rises—a critical task in high-rise construction.
  • Pour Management: Supervise the structural "cycle," including rebar inspection, formwork closing, and the actual concrete pouring (often done at night in Dubai to manage temperatures).
  • Labor Supervision: Direct the daily activities of foremen and laborers, ensuring they follow the approved drawings and safety protocols.
  • HSE Compliance: Enforce Dubai’s strict safety standards, particularly regarding edge protection, fall arrest systems, and the Summer Midday Break regulations.
  • Site Diary: Maintain accurate daily reports of progress, manpower, and any site constraints (wind, crane downtime, etc.).

Qualifications for Dubai

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience: 3–6 years of "on-site" experience in high-rise structural or finishing works.
  • Certification: Ideally holds a Society of Engineers (SOE) membership and DM-approved engineer card.
