The Site Foreman to supervise and manage the day-to-day site activities related to the installation of carpentry, joinery, and fit-out works. Responsible for coordinating site teams, ensuring quality workmanship, enforcing safety protocols, and maintaining progress in line with the project schedule. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in interior fit-out installations, leadership capabilities, and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate all on-site activities related to the installation of joinery and carpentry works (e.g. doors, cabinets, wall cladding, counters, wardrobes, decorative items, etc.).
- Ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Manage daily workforce allocation, monitor labor productivity, and ensure availability of necessary materials, tools, and equipment.
- Lead site operatives, carpenters, and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to work plans and timelines.
- Provide clear instructions and guidance to team members regarding work methods, standards, and expectations.
- Motivate and discipline workers as needed to maintain performance and productivity.
- Conduct regular quality checks during and after installation to ensure accuracy, alignment, and finishing standards.
- Report any defects or discrepancies to the Site Engineer or Project Manager and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.
- Enforce health and safety procedures at the site as per company and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure the proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), tools, and equipment.
- Report and respond to any accidents, unsafe practices, or hazards on site.
- Coordinate with other trades (MEP, civil, etc.) to avoid conflicts and ensure smooth workflow.
- Attend site coordination meetings and provide input on progress, challenges, and resource needs.
- Maintain daily site reports, including labor deployment, work completed, material usage, and site observations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma or Trade Certification in Carpentry, Civil Engineering, Construction, or related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years of hands-on experience in carpentry and joinery installation, including 2–3 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong technical knowledge of joinery materials (wood, MDF, veneer, laminates, etc.) and installation methods.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, architectural layouts, and installation details.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and installation equipment.
- Good communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multicultural site teams.
- Working knowledge of health and safety practices on construction and fit-out sites.
