We are looking for Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) for our projects in Djibouti.
Duties includes but is not limited to:

Conduct daily safety and health inspections and maintain a written log which includes area/operation inspected, date of inspection, identified hazards, recommended corrective actions, estimated and actual dates of corrections. Attach safety inspection logs to the Contractors' daily production report. -
Be a full-time responsibility. The SSHO shall be present at the project site, located so they have full mobility and reasonable access to all major work operations during the shift. -
Conduct mishap investigations and complete required accident reports. Report mishaps and near misses. -
Use OSHA's Form 300 to log work-related injuries and illnesses occurring on the project site for Prime Contractors and subcontractors. Post and maintain Form 300 on the site Safety Bulletin Board. -
Maintain applicable safety reference material on the job site. -
Attend the pre-construction conference, pre-work meetings including preparatory meetings, and periodic in-progress meetings. -
Review the APP and AHAs for compliance with EM 385-1-1, and approve, sign, implement and enforce them. -
Establish a Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) Deficiency Tracking System that lists and monitors outstanding deficiencies until resolution. -
Ensure subcontractor compliance with safety and health requirements. -
Maintain a list of hazardous chemicals on site and their material Safety Data Sheets (SDS). -
Maintain a weekly list of high hazard activities involving energy, equipment, excavation, entry into confined space, and elevation, and be prepared to discuss details during QC Meetings. -
Provide and keep a record of site safety orientation and indoctrination for Contractor employees, subcontractor employees, and site visitors. -
liaise with Government to obtain badges for the contractor and subcontractor's personnel and vehicles while keeping accurate log of badges all times. -
work as the environmental coordinator with the Base environment team. - Develop and implement project specific Safety and Environmental protection plans.
Qualification Requirements:

Contract Experience: managing safety programs in construction: 5 years (Required) - License/Certification: 30-hour OSHA +10-hour OSHA Construction Industry safety class
- IOSH Managing Safety certificate
- 40-HOURS EM-385-1-1 CONSTRUCTION SAFETY HAZARD AWARENESS
- Certificate of Competent Person for Scaffolding (meets the requirements of EM 385-1-1, Section 22.B.02).
- Certificate of Competent Person for Fall Protection (meets the requirements of EM 385-1-1, Section 21.C.04).
- Certificate of Competent Person for Environmental management system. (EMS)
- Certificate of Competent Person for CPR, AED & First Aid certification by Save a Life.
