About Your Team

This role sits within the Operations Department and reports directly to the Solar Site Engineer, with indirect reporting to the Project Manager. The department focuses on operational excellence - ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient delivery of solar energy projects.

Your Role

As a Site Supervisor– Solar Operations , you will:

• Support site preparation and project mobilization, ensuring all permits, materials, and manpower are in place and stored properly.
• Supervise daily solar installation activities - including PV panel installation, AC/DC wiring, cable tray routing, and commissioning.
• Coordinate with other team engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure smooth execution and adherence to program milestones.
• Maintain daily manpower activity records (DSTI) and oversee tools and equipment management on-site.
• Conduct internal and external site inspections and ensure closure of client/consultant comments.
• Prepare and manage MSRA documentation and ensure full compliance with ALEC’s HSE and quality standards.
• Monitor progress versus targets and submit accurate daily reports to project leadership.
• Assist with troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance of solar PV systems to ensure efficiency and performance.
• To understand the project programs and milestones of work flow. Accordingly, allocate manpower and request for resources and tools.
• Arrangement of internal site inspection through site engineers and responsible for closing comments of inspection with consultants/client in guidance of ALEC engineer / PM.
• To liaise with subcontractors/ supplier for program and task adherence.
• Capability to work on rooftops/carparks/ground mounts/remote locations/onshore/offshore projects not limited to BIPV and hybrid projects and at heights under the exposure of sun.
• Capable to understand the site requirement as per the project design and action progress.
• Proper estimation of required installation tools during site execution works. Request access from client for the installation of PV modules, DC and AC cable with cable trays, Identify the routing of cables with respect to approved design and shortest feasible lengths.
• Good experience to handle electrical connection at LV side to understand electrical drawings and parameters.
• Minimum experience in handling Civil foundation works for ground mounts and car parks and confident to install complete Solar structures within the required timeline.
• Process of lifting heavy materials, climbing ladders and moving about on roofs and to develop lifting plans for HSE compliance.
• Duties may fluctuate to current scope of works, as you may be more involved with the hands-on work aspects of the project, however as you gain more experience, you could handle the complete project requirements on its own.
• Duties may change as per project requirement on a day-to-day basis to have updates on various project sites to achieve optimal resource utilization.
• Commuting to various sites should be planned with manpower to complete operations and maintenance cycles.
• Conduct routine inspection, diagnose issues, and repair malfunctions of the solar PV systems. Perform necessary electrical tasks, including wiring, grounding, and conducting electrical tests including microcracking and testing of panels with string level monitoring.
• Create and maintenance records with plant generation, and periodical repairs
• Promote a culture of safety and teamwork

• Your working days are Monday to Saturday
• Your work location is Dubai or Abu Dhabi (Based on the project requirements)

What We’re Looking For

Qualification:

Diploma in Electrical Engineering Or appropriate discipline or equivalent demonstrated experience. Dewa PV Certified, ADDC Approved, Dubai Municipality approved Solar experience preferred.

Experience:

2–3 years of experience in solar or electrical site works, including installation, testing, and commissioning of PV systems (200KW and above). Previous exposure to rooftop, carpark, or ground-mounted installations preferred.

Knowledge:

Solid understanding of LV electrical systems, PV plant components, and authority regulations (DEWA / ADDC / DM). Familiarity with HSE procedures, lifting operations, and safe work practices at heights.

Expertise:

Proficient in site supervision, resource allocation, MSRA preparation, and quality assurance. Capable of maintaining accurate site documentation and supporting inspections and testing procedures.

Skills:

• Strong communication and coordination abilities.
• Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Good understanding of electrical drawings and LV connections.
• Hands-on experience with solar installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently and lead small teams safely and efficiently.
• Driving license to commute is preferred.
