Slaughterhouse Manager (Chicken/Poultry)

A Slaughterhouse Manager (Chicken/Poultry) is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations of a poultry processing facility, including live receiving, slaughter, deboning, packaging, and dispatch. This role ensures maximum efficiency, stringent quality control, and adherence to food safety, animal welfare, and health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operational Management & Production

  • Plan, organize, and direct daily operations for slaughtering, processing, and deboning to meet production targets.
  • Ensure minimal waste and maximize efficiency in resource management.
  • Coordinate with supply chain, logistics, and live-chicken transportation to ensure consistent supply and timely delivery.
  • Oversee maintenance of plant equipment and infrastructure to ensure maximum uptime.

2. Food Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure strict compliance with HACCP, ISO, and local regulatory frameworks.
  • Maintain high sanitation and hygiene standards (SSOPs) throughout the facility.

3. Animal Welfare

  • Ensure humane handling of livestock throughout the receiving and stunning processes.
  • Enforce animal welfare regulations at all times.

4. Staff Management & Training

  • Lead, train, and manage production staff to foster a culture of responsibility and excellence.
  • Manage labor relations, including scheduling, performance management, and safety training.

5. Reporting & Financial Control

  • Monitor efficiency metrics and report production data to senior management.
  • Oversee inventory management and cost-effective strategies.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Meat Science, Food Technology, Agriculture, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 8–10+ years in the poultry/meat processing industry, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial position.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of slaughter house, HACCP, and food safety standards.
  • Leadership: Strong team management and decision-making skills.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and inventory management software.

Working Conditions

  • This role requires working in cold, damp environments.
  • Must be able to manage high-pressure, fast-paced production environments.
  • Required to be on-site to oversee, at times, 24/7 or early morning operations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: QAR8,000.00 - QAR15,000.00 per month
