SOA Executive - Shipping

Job Purpose

The SOA Executive – Finance is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and reconciling Statements of Account (SOA) with agents, vendors, and customers. The role ensures accurate billing, timely reconciliations, and resolution of discrepancies in coordination with internal teams and external agents.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain Statements of Account (SOA) for agents, customers, and vendors.
• Review invoices, debit notes, and credit notes to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Perform SOA reconciliation with local and overseas agents on a regular basis.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve billing discrepancies and variances.
• Coordinate closely with shipping agents, finance teams, and operations for issue resolution.
• Follow up with agents for outstanding balances, confirmations, and settlements.
• Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all SOA-related activities.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes related to receivables and payables.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, financial controls, and SOPs.
• Assist in responding to audit queries related to SOA and agent accounts.
• Generate periodic aging, reconciliation, and exception reports for management review.

Required Skills & CompetenciesTechnical / Finance Skills

• Strong understanding of Statements of Account (SOA) and reconciliation processes
• Knowledge of shipping finance, agency accounting, and freight billing
• Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables preferred)

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
• 1–4 years of relevant experience in shipping, logistics, or freight forwarding finance
• Experience dealing with local and international agents is highly preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in agency side shipping finance
• Knowledge of freight charges, port charges, and shipping cost structures
• Exposure to audit and compliance requirements
• Understanding of foreign currency transactions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs60,000.00 - Rs75,000.00 per month
