Job Description

Tancho Sushi is looking for a part-time Social Media Intern / Assistant to support our social media content and brand growth.

This is a hands-on role focused on planning, shooting, editing, posting support, and account management. The ideal candidate understands that content should not only look good, but also help drive engagement, brand awareness, guest interest, and real business results.

This role is designed for someone who can support Tancho’s weekly content flow through a weekly planning meeting, in-store content shoots, editing, scheduling, caption support, and light account management. The goal is to help us stay consistent on Instagram and TikTok while creating content that supports brand visibility, guest traffic, and engagement.

Weekly Structure

This role is expected to be up to 10 hours per week, including:

• 1 hour weekly planning meeting
• 1 hour in-store content shoot
• Remaining hours focused on editing, posting support, scheduling, account management, captions, content organization, and engagement

Some work can be completed remotely, but the candidate must be available for regular in-person content shoots and meetings.

Role Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a weekly content calendar
• Shoot photo and video content in-store, including food, atmosphere, behind the scenes, team, guest experience, specials, takeout, and promotions
• Edit short-form video for Instagram Reels and TikTok
• Assist with content planning, scheduling, captions, and posting
• Help manage Instagram and TikTok account activity
• Contribute ideas for promotions, campaigns, and weekly content
• Organize content files and maintain a backlog of usable photos and videos
• Support basic tracking of content performance, engagement, and audience growth
• Create content that encourages guests to visit, order, share, and engage with Tancho Sushi

What We’re Looking For

• Experience creating short-form video content using CapCut or similar editing tools
• Strong eye for aesthetics, especially food, restaurants, and hospitality
• Understanding of Instagram and TikTok, including hooks, pacing, trends, and engagement
• Organized, reliable, and able to follow through on tasks
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, in-person restaurant environment
• Creative, detail-oriented, and able to align content with the Tancho brand
• Able to take direction while also bringing fresh ideas to the table

Preferred, Not Required

• Photography experience
• Experience creating content for a brand, restaurant, or personal page
• Interest in food, sushi, restaurants, or hospitality
• Experience with social media strategy, analytics, or content performance tracking

The goal is not just to post content. The goal is to create content that helps more people discover Tancho, engage with the brand, visit the restaurant, and share the experience with others.

Schedule Requirements
