Social Media Associate

Key Responsibilities

Content Strategy & Creation

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with marketing and sales objectives for Focus Camera, Focus Pro Audio, Focus Lifestyle
  • Create engaging content (images, short-form video, reels, stories, carousels, etc.)
  • Write compelling captions and calls-to-action tailored to each platform
  • Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity for all brands

Platform Management

  • Manage daily posting and scheduling across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, X, Pinterest, etc.)
  • Monitor trends and identify opportunities for timely, relevant content
  • Engage with followers, respond to comments and DMs, and foster community growth

Influencer & Partnership Collaboration

  • Identify and build relationships with photographers, creators, and tech influencers
  • Coordinate product seeding and sponsored campaigns
  • Track influencer performance and ROI

Analytics & Reporting

  • Track KPIs including engagement rate, reach, follower growth, CTR, and conversions
  • Generate monthly performance reports with insights and recommendations
  • Use data to refine content strategy and improve results with Marketing Manager

Paid Social Support

  • Collaborate with the paid media team on campaign creatives
  • Assist in A/B testing social ads
  • Optimize campaigns based on performance metrics

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience managing social media for a brand or agency
  • Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and emerging platforms
  • Experience with social media management tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Later)
  • Basic photo/video editing skills (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut, etc.)
  • Familiarity with analytics tools and data reporting
  • Passion for photography, audio gear, consumer electronics, or content creation not a must, but highly encouraged
  • Strong communication and copywriting skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced retail environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in e-commerce or retail marketing
  • Knowledge of camera and audio brands (Canon, Sony, Nikon, Shure, etc.)
  • Experience running giveaways and product launches
  • Basic understanding of paid social advertising

Work Schedule & Location

  • This is an in-person role based in our Brooklyn, NY location
  • Schedule is Monday–Thursday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM onsite
  • Fridays are a half-day remote schedule
