Position Overview
Mary's Land Farm is seeking a dynamic, creative Social Media Content Creator & Strategist to develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy across all business lines. This is a unique opportunity to tell the story of a multi-faceted regenerative agricultural operation—from our historic inn and farm store to our farm experiences, seasonal festivals, and animal programs. You will be the primary voice and visual storyteller for our farm, working directly with teams across operations to capture authentic content that showcases our values, events, and community.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and manage a content calendar across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and other platforms; plan campaign themes and storytelling arcs
- Capture on-site content: produce Reels, Stories, static posts, and behind-the-scenes footage that reflect the farm's authentic personality and seasonal rhythm
- Create short-form and long-form video content showcasing farm events, inn experiences, animal programs, seasonal festivals, and workshops
- Collaborate with team members across inn operations, farm management, and events to identify content opportunities and capture moments that matter
- Be on-camera talent when appropriate; stay comfortable being the visible face of farm storytelling
- Manage posting schedules, monitor engagement metrics, and adjust strategy based on performance data and trending content
- Research and implement social media trends to keep content fresh, relevant, and aligned with audience interests
- Create graphics, captions, and promotional assets using tools such as Canva
- Support marketing campaigns across ticketed events, farm store promotions, and inn bookings
- Maintain an active, responsive social media presence; reply to comments and messages in a timely manner
- Work closely with management to represent the farm's brand voice consistently across all platforms
Required Qualifications

Demonstrated experience managing social media accounts (minimum 1–2 years); portfolio or examples of past work required
- Strong understanding of current social media trends, platform algorithms, and best practices across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and emerging platforms
- Proficiency in video creation and editing (ability to film, edit, and publish short-form video content)
- Outgoing personality with ability to approach staff, guests, and visitors to capture authentic moments and build rapport
- Comfortable being on-camera and presenting ideas confidently
- Strong written communication and copywriting skills; ability to craft engaging captions and storytelling narratives
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Collaborative mindset; comfortable working across departments and with team members at all levels
- Ability to work at least one weekend day year-round (event coverage, seasonal festival support, etc.)
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with small business or farm/agritourism social media
- Familiarity with social media analytics tools and ability to interpret metrics
- Experience with email marketing or broader marketing strategy
- Knowledge of or passion for agriculture, sustainability, or agritourism
- Experience managing influencer partnerships or community engagement
Work Schedule & Logistics
Hours: Hourly, 30–40 hours per week; flexible schedule coordinated with management. Must include a minimum of one weekend day year-round.
Location: On-site at Mary's Land Farm (4979 Sheppard Lane, Ellicott City, MD). Primary work is in the field capturing content and collaborating with team members.
Work Environment: Outdoor and indoor environments; weather-dependent. Must be comfortable working on a working farm, with animals, and in varied conditions.
