We are seeking an experienced Social Media Manager to join our Global Organic Social Strategy (GOSS) team and lead the digital voice of our music vertical!
You will be responsible for developing and leading best-in-class organic social media strategies that are critical to enhancing access, engagement, resilience, and relevance for the organization. This manager champions the vital voice of our fans and artists across all channels, teams, and workstreams.

Responsibilities:
- Advocate for best-in-class organic social in every setting.
- Act as a thought leader to proactively identify and communicate learnings, best practices, platform trends, and a necessary social point-of-view.
- Regularly report on the status of work and wider performance, sharing actionable insights with internal and external partners.
Strategy
- Develop and execute strategies to drive positive engagement for our artist, album, industry, and partnership campaigns (Project Name: Artist and Industry Campaigns).
- Lead fan engagement, go-to-market (GTM), and content calendar plans, ensuring alignment with GOSS and broader company priorities.
- Stay ahead of evolving social algorithms, best practices, and community behaviors, taking proactive initiative to optimize our social presence.
Cultural Acumen, Analysis, and Evaluation
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of the behaviors, trends, and passions of music fandoms, with an expert understanding of how artists and fans engage.
- Monitor social listening to gauge sentiment, identify relevant themes and trends, and track, analyze, and optimize social performance to support team KPIs.
- Rigorously vet content for brand safety, alignment with department strategy, and broader business objectives.
Operational Excellence
- Manage time and resources with care and precision, ensuring thoughtful coordination across distributed teams, time zones, and dependencies.
- Use the RACI model to clearly identify roles and responsibilities across projects.
- Maintain clarity and accountability in communication, ensuring visibility across teams and leadership.
On-Site Social Coverage
- Lead on-site content capture and real-time coverage strategy for industry milestones, artist campaigns, and brand partnerships/activations.

Qualifications:
- Required Experience 5+ years experience leading strategy for organic social media, preferably in a global or entertainment/media environment.
- Music Experience Must have music experience working with artists and labels (no TV or film experience). Well-versed in social strategy and the nuances of music content rights/clearances is essential.
- Algorithm Expertise Proven track record of leading innovative social campaigns, with algorithm expertise and timely optimization experience for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, X, WhatsApp, and YouTube.
- Strategy Focus The role focuses on planning and strategy (go-to-market and campaigns) and does not involve content editing, filming, or starring in content.
- Preferred Experience Experience doing social in a label environment or with another music streamer/music company (such as MTV or related industry) is a huge plus.
- Location & Travel Must be based in New York City to assist with New York-based content captures (likely 1-2 days a week) with the option for remote work otherwise. Travel is required for this role.
- Project Contribution and Team Dynamics The role is an individual contributor that involves strategic planning for music campaigns, working closely with a creative team (who handle content design and editing). You will be part of a small, core music social team but will engage in larger cross-functional campaign settings with various disciplines.

- Need for detail orientation and being in tune with the project campaign.
- Requires proactive communication and maintaining visible leadership in a remote environment.
- Must have very strong interpersonal skills to manage intense, last-minute demands from artist and label teams and work collaboratively as a team player in a matrix environment.

- Expert in Organic Social Media Strategy Leadership and campaign execution.
- Proven ability to engage diverse brand, regional, creator, and specialized channels.
- High confidence in effectively and proactively communicating social insights to influence decision-making.
- Expert communication, project management, and account management skills for a distributed environment.
- Excellent discernment in a constantly changing environment, especially as it relates to brand safety and content evaluation.
