Same Day Garage Door is a leading garage door repair and installation company based in Houston. We have a team of in-house technicians serving the greater Houston area and we are looking to building a real, authentic social media presence that reflects who we are — a hardworking, skilled, and approachable team that Houstonians can trust.

We are not looking for someone to just manage posts. We are looking for someone who can tell our story.

The Role

We are looking for a Social Media Manager & Content Creator to manage our social media presence across all platforms. This is a hands-on, creative role — you will be in the field, at job sites, and in the office capturing real content, editing it into polished and engaging material, and building a genuine audience from the ground up.

You will work directly with our Marketing Director on strategy and will be the creative engine behind everything our audience sees.

What You Will Do

Content Creation & Editing

  • Manage the full production cycle from pre-production through to final published content
  • Prepare scripts and content briefs for shoots
  • Coordinate and book shooting days with the operations team based on job schedules
  • Film and photograph content at job sites, in the office, and on location across Houston
  • Edit all video and photo content — from raw footage to publish-ready material
  • Organize and maintain all raw and edited files in a structured, accessible system
  • Create a mix of professional, polished content and authentic behind-the-scenes moments
  • Bring creativity and personality to the brand — we want content that is real, relatable, and occasionally fun

Please note: Hours are flexible and variable by nature. Average weeks are around 20 hours, but shooting days can sometimes run 6–8 hours on their own depending on the job. You need to be comfortable with that schedule flexibility.

Social Media Management

  • Manage and grow our presence on Meta (Facebook & Instagram), TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Nextdoor
  • Develop and execute a content strategy in collaboration with the Marketing Director
  • Maintain a consistent posting schedule across all platforms
  • Engage with and respond to customers, followers, and leads across all social platforms

Strategy & Growth

  • Work closely with the Marketing Director to develop platform-specific strategies
  • Build our B2B presence on LinkedIn targeting property managers, real estate agents, commercial property owners, and contractors
  • Grow our following and engagement organically from the ground up — our accounts are newly established and this is your opportunity to build something from scratch

What We Are Looking For

  • Expert-level video and photo editing skills — non-negotiable. Your portfolio must demonstrate strong editing work
  • Experience managing social media accounts across multiple platforms
  • Comfortable working in the field — job sites, offices, and on-location in the Houston metro.
  • Creative eye with the ability to spot content opportunities in everyday work situations
  • Strong understanding of short-form video content (Reels, TikTok) as well as long-form (YouTube)
  • Experience with or strong understanding of LinkedIn for B2B audience building
  • People skills — you will be working with technicians who range from camera-comfortable to camera-shy. You know how to bring the best out of people on film
  • Self-driven and strategic — you will not be handed a script. You bring ideas to the table
  • We care about the quality of your output, not which software you use to get there

Work Setup

  • Part-time, average 20 hours per week — hours are variable
  • Shooting days can sometimes run 6–8 hours and sometimes be very short depending on the job — flexibility is essential
  • Houston, TX based — this is an in-person role
  • Regular travel to job sites across the Houston area — gas expenses covered
  • Work directly alongside the Marketing Director during site visits and filming days

Compensation

  • $2,000–$2,200/month (average 20 hours/week) depending on experience and portfolio
