Social Media Manager for a startup

First Chair is the AI-powered interior design app helping design-minded people turn the rooms they've been imagining into rooms they can actually live in - with real pieces they can buy today. We're an early-stage, founder-led team building something that feels less like software and more like having a friend with great taste in your pocket. Backed by a team from NVIDIA, Apple, Harvard, McKinsey, and Meta.

Our social presence is one of our most important channels. We're looking for someone to run it like it's their own.

You'll own the day-to-day of our social channels - Instagram, TikTok, X (Twitter), and Pinterest. This is hands-on work: posting, replying, watching what lands, and steadily growing an engaged audience of design enthusiasts.

What you'll do

• Post daily across IG, TikTok, X, and Pinterest - feed posts, Reels, Stories, Pins.
• Manage all DMs and comments - reply quickly, in our voice, build real connections with our audience.
• Engage proactively in our niche - comment on creators, brands, and accounts we care about.
• Monitor trends - sounds, formats, conversations - and flag what we should jump on the same day
• Schedule and organize content using Later, Buffer, or similar
• Light caption polishing and platform-specific tweaks (a TikTok caption is not an IG caption).
• Run weekly reporting - what worked, what didn't, what to double down on.
• Spot UGC and tag-worthy moments from our community for repost.
• Coordinate with our content team on what's needed week to week.
• Keep an eye on our handle mentions and brand sentiment across platforms.

You're a fit if

• You've run social for a brand before, ideally in design, lifestyle, home, or fashion.
• Native English.
• Strong taste. You can tell why a beautifully shot room reads as editorial vs. cluttered.
• You actually use IG, TikTok, X, and Pinterest. You know the difference in how each one behaves.
• You're responsive - comments and DMs don't sit overnight.
• You're organized. Calendars, trackers, scheduling tools are second nature.
• You take direction well but also bring ideas.

Bonus Points

• Background or genuine interest in interior design.
• Experience with founder-led or early-stage consumer brands.
• Comfort with light copywriting and trend-spotting.

Pay: $25.53 - $30.75 per hour
