JOB SUMMARY:

The Social Media and Online Presence Specialist is responsible for managing the organization’s digital brand identity, online reputation, and engagement across all digital platforms. This role ensures that the company’s story and offerings are effectively communicated through social media, websites, and online travel platforms. The ideal candidate combines creativity with data-driven insight—producing engaging content while monitoring performance and optimizing digital presence.

This is both a strategic and hands-on role: the specialist creates, schedules, and reports on digital content, advises on website improvements, and ensures alignment with the broader sales and marketing objectives.

DUTIES, RESPONSIBIITIES, & EXPECTATIONS:

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Social Media Management

  • Develop and execute a content calendar that aligns with marketing campaigns, promotions, and brand goals.
  • Create, post, and manage engaging content (photos, videos, stories, captions, etc.) across all active platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Threads, LinkedIn).
  • Monitor engagement daily, responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Implement strategies to grow audience reach, engagement, and conversions.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Sales and Von Mack team to ensure brand voice and campaign consistency.

Content Creation & Coordination

  • Capture and curate on-brand visual and written content for social media, email, and web.
  • Manage content libraries, ensuring high-quality assets are available for ongoing promotions.
  • Coordinate with photographers, videographers, and design partners when needed.
  • Maintain tone, visual style, and messaging consistency across all digital channels.

Website & Digital Optimization

  • Oversee website content to ensure accuracy, freshness, and alignment with ongoing promotions and brand updates.
  • Optimize page copy, imagery, and metadata for engagement and search visibility (no programming required).
  • Track site traffic and recommend improvements based on analytics and user behavior.
  • Collaborate with contractors or developers on larger website projects or redesigns.

Online Travel & Review Platform Management

  • Monitor placement and content accuracy across online travel partners (e.g., Viator, Expedia, GetYourGuide, TripAdvisor).
  • Manage and respond to online reviews on major platforms, maintaining a consistent and professional brand voice.
  • Track and report on review trends, ratings, and audience sentiment.
  • Ensure promotional and descriptive content is up to date and optimized for conversion.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Track engagement metrics across all platforms and report weekly on:
  • Follower growth and engagement rates
  • Campaign performance
  • Partner placement visibility
  • Review scores and trends
  • Provide actionable insights to the Director of Sales for ongoing strategy improvements.
  • Other additional and/or duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of professional experience in social media management, content creation, or digital marketing (entry-level candidates with strong portfolios will be considered).
  • Proficient with social media management tools (e.g., Later, Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite, Sprout Social).
  • Experience with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Meta Insights, etc.).
  • Strong writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills.
  • Basic understanding of SEO and digital advertising fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or other design tools a plus.

Pay: $22.56 - $26.45 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 per week
