Do you find yourself binge‑watching Reels, Shorts, and TikToks… pausing to screenshot titles, hooks, and patterns so you can figure out why they blew up?
As a Social Media Performance Analyst at Brand Sharks, you’ll live at the intersection of viral content research and organization. You’ll hunt for winning video ideas in each client’s niche, log what actually performs, and keep everything organized in simple sheets and boards so our strategists can make smarter decisions, faster.
You report to the Lead Content Strategist. Your work directly influences what we post, not just where we store data.
This is an entry‑level role with room to grow into more creative and strategic seats over time if you crush it.

Your research and tracking plug directly into the content plans that drive those results, and top performers have a clear path to Scriptwriter and then Strategist.
Responsibilities
Viral Content Research
- Dive into Instagram, TikTok and YouTube to find high‑performing videos in each client’s niche.
- Log winning ideas into our research sheets with titles, links, and clear notes (hook, angle, format, why it worked).
- Learn to tag/score ideas (e.g., “green / high potential”) based on patterns you see across top content.
Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Own simple client performance sheets (views, watch time, follower growth, leads, etc.).
- Keep data accurate and up to date on a set cadence.
- Surface straightforward insights for the Strategist: “This topic / hook / format is working, this one isn’t.”
Admin & General Ops Support
- Once the Strategist chooses ideas and sets due dates, keep ClickUp boards clean and accurate.
- Help maintain and improve SOPs for research, tracking, and reporting.
- Spot recurring issues (missing links, wrong labels, gaps) and propose small process tweaks instead of just doing the clicks.
Requirements
- You’re genuinely into social media: you regularly watch YouTube/short‑form and think about why some videos pop and others flop.
- Experience with research, data entry, or operations‑type work (school, agency, or freelance is fine).
- Comfortable working in spreadsheets (Google Sheets / Excel) and project tools (ClickUp or similar).
- Strong attention to detail and organization; you care about accurate labels, links, and data.
- Solid written English and reliable communication.
- Able to overlap a good portion of 9am–5pm PST.
Bonus Points If
- You've worked in a content, marketing, or analytics role before.
- You’ve ever tracked performance on your own or a friend’s social accounts.
- You've used ClickUp, Asana, Monday, or similar tools in a serious capacity.
Results You Own
- Research sheets delivered on time with a high percentage of usable, high‑potential ideas.
- Performance sheets accurate and updated on schedule, without the founder or strategist having to chase you.
- ClickUp boards clean and current; Strategist time spent on admin drops dramatically.
- Strategy and scripting teams feel supported, not blocked, by your research and data.
Compensation
~$1,000/month.
