Social Media & Photography Assistant

Job Description

GemMartUSA, a leading wholesale jewelry and gemstone supplier, is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Social Media & Product Photography Assistant to help elevate our visual content and online presence.

This is a very part-time, in-person role (5–10 hours per week) with flexible scheduling — ideal for students, beginners, or someone looking to build hands-on experience in photography, branding, and social media marketing.

Pay Range: $19 - $21 per hour (W-2 employee position)

What You’ll Do

Product Photography

• Capture clear, high-quality images of gemstones, jewelry, and home décor products
• Produce clean, accurate listing photos that highlight product details, textures, and scale with true-to-color representation
• Adjust styling, lighting, and composition to create visuals tailored for social media posts

Social Media Content

• Create engaging photo and short-form video content for social platforms
• Assist in planning and executing social media content ideas
• Write simple captions aligned with our brand voice
• Schedule posts and maintain posting consistency

Editing & Optimization

• Perform basic photo and video edits (color correction, cropping, light retouching)
• Adapt content formats for different platforms
• Engage with AI editing software to quickly edit and touch up photos

Skills & Experience

• 0–2 years of photography, social media, or content creation experience (beginners welcome)
• Basic understanding of lighting, composition, and editing
• Familiarity with Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and similar platforms
• Experience with Canva, CapCut, Lightroom, Photoshop, or similar tools is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and visual presentation
• Ability to take feedback and improve quickly
• Good time management and ability to work independently

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• In-person position
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to bend, stoop, and reach as needed
• Occasionally lift up to 15 pounds
• Must speak and write English fluently
• Able to work 4-hour shifts with flexible scheduling
