Social Media Video Editor

Overview

I'm a social media strategist hiring a video editor for social media content. This is a 1099/contract employee position. Fully remote, you set your own schedule, just need to be able to meet deadlines and take direction/meet briefs. Being able to travel onsite to local businesses around Austin to film your own footage would be a huge plus, but not necessary. Editing is primary focus.

Responsibilities

• Edit and assemble raw footage into compelling social media videos using industry-standard software such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, or Capcut.
• Incorporate motion graphics, typography, and visual effects to enhance storytelling and brand identity.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality content optimized for various social media platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.
• Collaborate with content creators, marketing teams, and graphic designers to develop cohesive visual narratives that align with campaign goals.
• Apply photo editing and manipulation techniques using Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, and Capture One to produce engaging visual assets.
• Maintain organized project files within content management systems and ensure seamless workflow through Google Drive and other file transfer protocols.
• Stay current with social media trends, platform specifications, and emerging editing tools to continually elevate content quality.

Skills

• Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, and Adobe After Effects, etc.
• Strong knowledge of photo editing tools including Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, Capture One, and Adobe Bridge, etc.
• Skilled in post-production processes like color correction, sound editing, and visual effects integration.
• Familiarity with graphic design principles using Adobe Illustrator and InDesign or Canva for creating overlays and visual elements.
• Experience with motion graphics is a plus.
• Ability to shoot videography or film footage may be needed in the future; understanding of filming techniques is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail combined with the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines in a collaborative environment.
