Volunteer & Social Media Coordinator

Schedule: Tuesday?Saturday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Reports to: Director of Communications and Marketing

Position Summary

The Volunteer & Social Media Coordinator builds community support for El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank by recruiting, coordinating, and engaging volunteers through creative outreach efforts, social media, and special events. This role ensures volunteers have a positive and meaningful experience while helping expand the food bank?s impact in the community.

Key Responsibilities

Volunteer Recruitment & Engagement

• Recruit, schedule, and onboard volunteers

• Create engaging volunteer shifts and recognition programs

• Provide training on safety and food handling

• Maintain regular communications including a volunteer newsletter

• Track and report volunteer hours and impact

Community Outreach & Social Media

• Promote volunteer opportunities and events on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn

• Develop creative social media campaigns to support volunteer and event recruitment

• Build and maintain relationships with schools, businesses, and community groups

• Support and help plan special events and projects that promote the food bank

Administration

• Compile and present reports highlighting volunteer efforts

• Coordinate goals and strategies with the Director of Communications

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Experience coordinating volunteers, managing social media, or planning events

• Customer service or hospitality experience preferred

Skills & Abilities

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

• Proficiency with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X)

• Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities

• Positive, professional attitude and ability to work well under pressure

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred

• Must pass a background check

• Must pass random drug testing
