Social Mobiliser & Reporting Officer

The position

The Social Mobiliser & Reporting Officer will support the Gupis Fort project by engaging local communities, coordinating with stakeholders, and documenting project activities. The role will ensure effective community participation, smooth communication, and timely reporting.

Responsibilities:
Social Mobilization
  • Liaise with local communities, community leaders, elders, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Facilitate community meetings, consultations, and focus group discussions.
  • Promote community participation and ownership in project activities.
  • Identify community needs, concerns, and feedback related to the project.
  • Support formation and strengthening of community groups/committees, where required.
  • Ensure inclusion of women, youth, and marginalized groups in project activities.
Coordination and Communication
  • Act as a focal point between the project team and local communities.
  • Coordinate with government departments, NGOs, and local institutions as needed.
  • Assist project management in planning and organizing field activities and events.
Reporting and Documentation
  • Prepare regular field progress reports (daily, weekly, and monthly as required).
  • Document community meetings, consultations, and mobilization activities.
  • Collect qualitative and quantitative data from the field.
  • Maintain records of attendance, photographs, case studies, and success stories.
  • Contribute to donor and management reports by providing accurate field data.
  • Ensure timely submission of reports in prescribed formats.
Monitoring and Feedback
  • Support monitoring project activities at the community level.
  • Identify implementation challenges and report to Senior Architect.
  • Gather community feedback and recommend corrective actions.

Deliverables
The key deliverables include:
  • Community mobilization and consultation records.
  • Monthly progress reports with photographs and annexures.
  • Field visit reports and activity summaries.
  • Case studies, success stories, and lessons learned
Any other reports as required by project management.

The requirements

  • Master’s degree in social sciences, Development Studies, Sociology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in social mobilization, community development, or similar roles.
  • Experience in report writing and documentation.
  • Familiarity with local culture, language(s), and community dynamics.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently in field conditions
