Salary Range: $69,388.80 to $86,736.00. This is an exempt, salaried position. Please note: Pay rates are based on education, skill, experience level and internal equity. Youth and Family Services Division (YFS) of the Department of Social Services (DSS) provides a variation of services to safeguard children by strengthening the protective capacities of families whose children’s health, safety and well-being are at risk. Position Summary
The Social Work Supervisor provides direct supervision, training, support, review and evaluation of Social Services Specialists within Youth and Family Services. This position compiles reports and data to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures as well as assignment and monitoring of cases. This position provides feedback to staff to enhance their capabilities to perform efficiently. The Social Work Supervisor coordinates work activities, assigns cases and referrals and works closely with employees, monitoring case activities. Ensures appropriate and needed services for children and families receiving visitation or transportation services. Serves as parenting and visitation resource for staff and others.
This position will be located at 10101 David Taylor Dr., Charlotte, NC 28262. Due to team coverage needs, after-hours and weekend work will be required. The Social Work Supervisor in this position should expect periodic evening and weekend coverage to support staff working Saturdays, Sundays, and later evening shifts (up to approximately 7:00-8:00pm).
Essential Functions
Assigns cases as appropriate
Maintain and track data, including tracking of supervised visits
Supervise, train and evaluate the performance of technical and para-professional staff
Consult with teams and staff on individual case assignments
Develop procedures to meet department or program goals, ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines. Reviews information with teams or staff members to provide guidance and direction in the delivery of services
Establish performance objectives, conducts periodic reviews and monitors progress
Monitor budget activities and adjusts expenditures and makes recommendations as appropriate
Review and audits staff cases and workloads to prioritize duties and referrals for new cases
Complete monthly and quarterly program reports
Provide consultation to staff in complex case situations, acute emergencies, or cases which require a high level decision
Communicate and partner with other Permanency Planning/Post Custody Social Work Supervisors
Review and analyze activity reports and statistics for continuous awareness of program operation
Minimum Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum of five years of social services or human services experience
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Health or related field
Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted?: Yes
Licenses and Certifications
Requires a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver's License
Requires County Driving Privileges
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Social Work preferred
Permanency Planning experience preferred
Prior experience as a Social Work Assistant/Social Services Specialist preferred, including experience with the transportation and supervision of children
