Social Worker Non Exempt

The Social Worker carries out social work of the facility with the objective of meeting the emotional and social needs of the residents. Works in association with persons responsible for marketing to help determine that residents are provided with the proper living accommodations. Works in association with those responsible for activities and spiritual life in helping to provide the proper programs in response to persons' needs.

• Plans and directs a Social Services program which will meet the needs of the campus residents and their families in conjunction with the facility’s priority of wellness.
• Develops and maintains a positive working relationship with all departments.
• Assists in planning the Social Services budget for the facility in consultation with Administration.
• Monitors rules and regulations related to Licensed Nursing Facilities and CCRCs in the are of Social Services and keeps Administration well informed.
• Ensures that all Social Service functions are carried out necessary to a deficiency-free facility and in compliance with regulations.
• Works with persons responsible for Marketing Independent Living Units in assessing residents regarding proper placement.
• Provides in-service training related to areas of Social Services as required by Administration for employees, volunteers, residents, and/or family members.
• Maintains current Social Services documentation in Medical Records for all residents in the specified caseload of the facility and a historical file on all who have been a patient/resident.
• Counsels with residents, residents' families, and employees in various areas of concern as time and skill permit.

Minimal Education:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from an accredited school required OR

2. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a human-services related major, including sociology, gerontology, psychology, rehabilitation counseling or special education; AND one year in a healthcare setting where the individual is working as a supervised social worker who works directly with individuals.

Minimal Experience:

1. Two years of experience in a geriatric setting.
