Software Development Snr Manager

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a Senior Software Development Manager to lead an engineering team at the forefront of AI innovation. Our AI Infrastructure organization is dedicated to exploring and implementing the next generation of AI accelerators and hardware solutions that power world-class machine learning workloads.

In this role, you will lead a team of highly driven engineers focused on the evaluation, prototyping, and optimization of cutting-edge AI hardware—including custom-designed AI chips and high-performance systems. You will play a pivotal role in shaping Oracle’s AI Cloud platform by overseeing platform definition, system integration, and performance characterization. You will collaborate closely with third-party GPU suppliers and internal hardware/software teams to ensure our infrastructure provides industry-leading performance for training and inference at scale.

• Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a world-class team of engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, proactive operational ownership, and rapid iteration.
• Strategic Delivery: Drive the execution of complex projects involving AI infrastructure development, ensuring the delivery of resilient, high-scale services that meet rigorous performance standards.
• Hardware-Software Co-design: Partner with hardware design teams to influence the architecture, implementation, and deployment of emerging AI hardware platforms (e.g., GPUs and custom accelerators).
• Performance Engineering: Oversee the benchmarking and performance analysis of AI accelerators from emerging vendors (e.g., SambaNova, Groq) vs. industry standards to optimize real-world AI applications.
• Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with cross-functional leadership and external partners to align technical roadmaps with broader business objectives and industry trends.
• Operational Excellence: Establish and maintain high standards for software quality, system reliability, and automated testing/diagnostic tools within the AI infrastructure stack.
• Technical Guidance: Provide architectural oversight and conduct design reviews to ensure tight integration between hardware accelerators and modern server platforms (x86/ARM).
