Compensation Pay Range:
$93,600.00 - $140,400.00The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation includes annual, quarterly performance, or premiums may be paid in amounts ranging per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
The Software Engineer I, with oversight, is responsible for contributing to the design, development, testing, and implementation of software solutions. This role works closely with senior engineers and other team members to learn and apply software development best practices and contribute to project goals. Responsibilities and Duties: Support and contribute to the documentation of "as is" and "to be" processes and describe the changes required to migrate to the "to be" capability to accurately record the changes required. Research and suggest technical developments to improve the quality of the software solutions and supporting infrastructure to better meet users’ needs. Support software development lifecycle by performing prescribed design activities using existing procedures. Contribute to the development of existing and new applications by analyzing and identifying areas for modification and improvement. Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code in accordance with established coding standards Develop and execute specified range of IT quality and performance testing to verify that software specifications are met. Support development, automation, and implementation of adequate testing and monitoring to diagnose application performance or stability issues. Monitor, identify, and correct straightforward software defects to maintain fully functioning software. Assist with the deployment and monitoring of software applications Participate in code reviews to provide and receive constructive feedback Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, and industry best practices through ongoing education and reading specialist media. Skills: Required: Understands and applies the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and maintenance, to effectively develop software solutions. Plans, organizes, and prioritizes activities to efficiently meet objectives. Assimilates and understands data and information from various sources in order to draw appropriate conclusions and make relevant recommendations. Understands business context, needs, rules, and architecture, as well as organizational structure, cultures, capabilities, and processes to document the current state of technology and operational processes. Creates clear, comprehensives, effectives, technical documentation to outline proposed technical specifications to meet business requirements. Develops software through use of programming languages, tools and platforms including: Object or component-oriented development Database Interfaces and Queries Cloud Computing: understand, deploy, and manage cloud-based infrastructure and services. Designs, executes and reports on systems/service tests to ensure that an application functions as specified in the requirements. Installs, sets up, configures, and manages software and environments. Monitors, diagnoses root-cause, and remediates issues with technology solutions. Preferred: Envisions and documents the future state of processes and products by identifying the solution scope, potential value of the future state, and the changes to the process, products, organization infrastructure, capabilities, and technology necessary to achieve the desired future state. Familiarity with cloud platforms Understanding of CI/CD pipelines Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field Experience: Sound experience and understanding of straightforward procedures or systems (7 to 12 months) Managerial Experience: Very limited (0 to 3 months)O’Reilly Auto Parts has a proven track record of growth and stability.
