Job Title: QA Engineer (Manual & Automation)

About the Role

We are building a high-velocity hyperlocal delivery platform with real-time order allocation, routing, pricing engine, merchant dashboards, and delivery partner apps. We’re looking for a QA Engineer who can ensure the platform is reliable, scalable, and performs consistently across mobile + web.

You will work closely with product, engineering, and operations to identify bugs early, improve release quality, and automate critical workflow tests.

Key Responsibilities

Manual QA

• Test mobile apps (Android/iOS) for merchants, customers, and delivery partners.
• Test key flows: order creation, assignment, routing, tracking, payments, COD workflows, settlement, pricing calculations.
• Perform functional, smoke, regression, system, and UAT testing.
• Validate real-time features: GPS accuracy, order state transitions, push notifications.
• Verify integrations: maps, payment gateways, SMS providers, KYC, CRM, webhooks.
• Document test cases, test scenarios, bug reports in tools like Jira, ClickUp, or Linear.
• Identify inconsistent behaviors under peak load or low-network conditions.
• Coordinate with developers for debugging and reproducing issues.

Automation QA

• Build and maintain automation test suites for mobile and web.
• Automate regression test cases for order flow, pricing logic, dashboard flows.
• Create API automation for routing engine, pricing engine, order lifecycle APIs.
• Implement end-to-end scripts using Selenium, Appium, Playwright, or similar tools.
• Set up CI/CD automated test pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
• Ensure automated tests run on each build and improve test coverage.
• Build mocks for location services, webhooks, and push notifications.

Required Skills

Technical Skills

• Strong in manual testing of mobile + web applications.
• Experience with automation tools:
• Selenium / Playwright (Web)
• Appium (Mobile)
• Postman / RestAssured for APIs
• Solid understanding of client-server architecture.
• Understanding of maps/GPS testing in mobile apps.
• Familiarity with SQL for data validation.
• Experience in bug tracking tools (Jira, ClickUp, Linear).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.

Domain Skills (Hyperlocal Delivery – Preferred)

• Understanding of logistics or delivery workflows.
• Knowledge of order lifecycle & statuses.
• Awareness of dynamic pricing, surge, distance calculations.
• Understanding of SLA-based deliveries and routing.
• Experience testing live location, navigation, trip tracking.

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
• Ability to work in fast-paced startup environments.
• Good communication skills to collaborate with engineering and operations.
• Ownership and attention to detail.

Good to Have

• Experience in testing high-scale apps (delivery, mobility, ecommerce).
• Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, Locust).
• Exposure to microservices architecture.
• Ability to design end-to-end test frameworks.
• Basic scripting knowledge (Python/Java/JS).

What You'll Work On

• Merchant onboarding → Order creation → Assignments → Delivery tracking.
• Delivery partner workflow: login, KYC, accept/decline, navigation.
• Pricing engine validation: distance calculation, base fare, surcharges.
• Ops dashboard: manual reassign, live agent tracking, order issue handling.
• Peak-time load and failover scenarios.
